May 1 – 7 150 N. Michigan (the Slope)
May 1-11 One South Dearborn, Sears Tower, 1 Chase Tower, Board of Trade Ceres statue
May 5 – 23 Buckingham Fountain

WHY:
At 8:00 a.m. On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2008 more than 35,000 walkers, runners and volunteers will gather in Chicago’s Grant Park for Y-ME’s 17th Annual Race to Empower, a 1- or 3-mile walk or a 5k run. The event does not raise money for research but funds programs and services to ensure no one faces breast cancer alone.
The Race to Empower inspires all who attend, providing the perfect way to honor the survivors in your life, commemorate your own diagnosis and remember those who are no longer with us. You'll also have the chance to raise funds in support of Y-ME's free-of-charge programs and services that are offered to all those touched by breast cancer.
*FYI, due to spring bird migration from March 15 through June 15, Chicago Bird Collision Monitors ask buildings to turn out lights from 11 p.m. to sunrise.
